Not a fan of this apparent Prolific support policy where they basically told me they can only intervene in a total of three unjustified rejections. — I had a rejection for lack of completion code; the requester ignored my polite inquiry and declined to reverse the rejection; Prolific support reversed it (great), but then told me they can only do that for me 2 more times (why lol?). – Fine, it's their policy for whatever reason, but I have to wonder what that reason may be. Unjust rejections are unjust — why limit interventions to 3?

 

While I understand your frustration, it's still three more than what Amazon would do.

 

True although, if P wanted to be open about this, I think they should mention the 3-intervention limit in their public support documentation. (AFAIK they currently don't. I only found out about it via email discussion.)

Another point of frustration (nobody's fault, just a thing) is that I sometimes instinctively turn to TV to try to find reviews of a requester and check for any reports of bad rejections, before I start a survey — and then I remember, there's nothing like TV for Prolific lol. ... (Sometimes I check anyway by searching TV for a Prolific requester's name, in case they might have used MTurk before, maybe I might find them reviewed on TV.)

(Humorous note: I remember my first day on this forum, I saw the abbreviation "TV" in discussions and got confused for a minute before I realized it means TurkerView not Television. lol)

Just try to not stress yourself out. I'm still learning with the helps of many here.

I've seen plenty of requesters go the extra mile to help receive compensation for something done and others flat out lie.

But in the long run it's honestly not worth it, because the risk to reward is always a rejection vs your account standing.

Btw, I'm writing to you as someone who would die on principles, never pride, so rejecting me for $0.20 is the same as $20 million.
