my parents got an air fryer and don't like the food it makes. it's recipes from a book that came with it. the recipes have a bunch of different ingredients. are air fryers better for making 1 thing instead like idk potatoes or sausage or something? or why is that happening? any ideas for your favorite air fryer recipes?

asking because this is the air fryer forum

I think they'd like it if they adjust the times and use the right settings.
Also - their same ol recipes.

I make everything in them - chops, chicken, steak.
Of course they work well with things like fries and tenders or nuggs.
I reheat my food constantly in them, pizza and bbq ribs turning out the best reheated.
Only thing I don't like in the air fryer is roasted taters.

    Also, I forgot something!
Don't put a slice of cheese on top of anything while it's running!
It will fling off and stick somewhere you don't want it.
If you must , use a toothpick but the best way is after it's done running - open it and place the cheese then close it
back up for about 30 seconds. It will melt beautiful and gooey.

The stuff I cook in my air fryer comes out pretty good. I don't follow any recipes, but J. Kenji Lopez-Alt has a good oven/air fryer chicken wing recipe. The secret is baking soda

I agree with @Jodie , reheating things in the air fryer is a dream. The only thing I don't love to cook in it is roasted brussel sprouts. Mine only goes up to 400F and I prefer to cook sprouts at like 425 ish

90% of what I make in mine is frozen fries/tater tots. I did chicken fajitas not long ago that were pretty good based on this recipe. https://pin.it/2slSgSO
Except I didn't have fajita seasoning so I just tossed in whatever I had that seemed like it would work (garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, paprika, ect) My sisters boyfriend did some stuffed peppers that were good and they said hotdogs were good in it but I haven't tried them myself. Roasted veggies are pretty good. Somethings like fries and roast veggies do better if you open it up and shake it around a few times while its cooking.

Yep, hot dogs only take 4-5 minutes depending on thickness. Air fryers are magic.
