OMG yes! He chirps!! The ONLY time I heard a meow was when I walked in and he was doing his private business and he clearly didn't want me in the room while he was otherwise engaged. loud MEOW and I about faced and left the room lol. Otherwise he just chirp-croaks-barely a meow. He will CALL to me from the room with that sound.

These cats were in found living in a car with their owner. She was homeless and had 9 cats in the car with her. So they know their history. I also think a lot of long hair domestic get listed as Maine Coons. I have an appointment for him with my vet at the end of the month so I'll ask them for their opinion on his breed.

The shelter said he's 7 years old, but I don't know if that's right. He has young cat energy. He darts about the room like crazy. Not running scared, just darts as his preferred mode of movement.

Do yours have prominent chest bones? When I pet his ruff, his "collar" bones (for lack of a better word) push out more than my other cats' do.

He also gets the cutest darn tufts of hair just randomly sticking out.

Last: Yep. Adopt a long haired cat RIGHT at the beginning of shedding season. That was smart. I have to use the lint brush on the bed many times a day, lol.
