When you keep hits too long in your queue and don't commit to completing them, it also negatively affects your Mturk reputation, though I haven't seen that brought up other than in casual conversation on TV.

 

The abandonment and return rates aren't really used anymore. I think a decade ago or something it was a thing, but I've never seen it used since I've been turking.

@nptrinh - I was just typing something similar to this but @L Lemon beat me to it and said it much better than I could. In the past I have definitely offered to retake survey's, or asked for a compensation HIT and reversal if I felt it was worth it. Sometimes newer requesters don't understand that they can do that, and think you are just worried about the money - when in reality for some of these numbers jobs, early on, you really just want the rejection overturned.

You're going to get rejections as part of this platform, but, as Lemon said a super-polite, professional-sounding letter with a thank you often goes a long way.

To be fair....I'm still salty about my first rejection which was a simple demographics survey lol. <3

 

Thanks @IcyTundra and @L Lemon!!! I reached out again and he said it was a mistake and that the batch that had my result got deleted and that he would reach out to mturk to try and get it sorted.

Appreciate all the help and support. Would be a bit less of a deal for me if I wasn't still trying to recover from the mass rejection I got on a batch last week...finally got above 95% again today so progress being made haha every rejection right now hurts so hopefully he can get this issue fixed
