    hurricane Ike came through TX into KY in 2008 but no rain ( we called it a wind storm, but it was still hurricane winds from hurricane Ike SEPT, 2008. February of 2009 we received an ice storm in which most of the city was out of power for at least a week or more. my roommate bought the house in Spring of 08 but paid for the roof twice in less than a year because of both... home owner's insurance is a necessity when you own real property...
