    Something I noticed, if the code was already applied you will get the error, but see this box under the payment section in the checkout screen. This is before you finalize so its a confirmation that the code was or is being applied. Or at least that is what I noticed when I refreshed the checkout (had to change my card) and tried to paste the code again.
