I've been to the Palace, the old Tiger Stadium and the Joe. Goodness, I miss the Joe. I used to take my walks on the riverfront and challenge myself to go up and down those stairs. I have mixed feelings about the LCA. I might give in and go to a basketball game.

Omg - I used to go get lunch between the old Tiger Stadium and the Joe. And then walk to the Joe for concerts and hockey games. I live in Maine now but didn't realize how many Michigander's there were still here!

I mean everyone thought it should have been named Gordie Howe Arena

 

I made sure I went to one last game at the joe and it was bittersweet. It was also my sons first game, he was meh on hockey. lol. He loves baseball and basketball so much more.

I agree about naming it the Gordie Howe Arena....Going to the Gord sounds so much better! lol

early morning sports talk, yay - about Detroit...I had a chance to catch a Tigers game while in town for a friend's wedding a few years back and that ballpark is so interesting - I have never a ballpark that looked more like an amusement park that sits right in the middle of downtown, lol! - so out of place, but was a decent stadium (Comerica). Would have loved to catch a basketball game at the Palace...

Palace games were great....nosebleed or VIP....ive sat in both. I really cant compare LCA to anything because ive never been. lol. Last major stadium I went to was The Scotiabank arena ( Maple Leafs) for the Elton John concert pre covid.
