mine hasn't gone down all week. I might not turn my catchers on, but I always have finder open. I like stalking $.

 

I've just assumed that when people say this, they just aren't noticing when its down. Like if you aren't actively trying to work a hit or look at your dashboard or whatever, then you won't see the error message.

I don't really see how when the site displays a general "We are down and working on it" message when accessing literally any URL attached to the MTurk website, how that can be user specific and not generalized to the entire website

 

dude, I stalk my dashboard and hits. I get bored in my downtime and I tell myself it makes me smoke less cigarettes (probably a lie). but @SamAnt might be right because I've mostly just been pinging with finder and not both of my catchers also.

 

The thing is, you won't see the problem via a catcher/scraper or whatever. It won't show any issues unless you pay attention to the small details - like in QBC I notice the site is down when the number of attempted scrapes is not changing (ie, the number of attempts doesn't increase from 1 to 2 to 3, etc, it just sits still)

Otherwise, it appears to be working and you wouldn't notice

 

It's up now...but I doubt it will be for long.

I look on that stuff on hit finder. and I constantly check my dashboard, like every 10 minutes at least. My site hasn't been going down. When I do turn my catchers on, I'm averaging 1 disconnect per 2 hrs. my finder is always ticking away though and if not, stop and restart always fixes.

 

Every 10 min isn't really enough to notice when its happening

Cus it will happen for 1 or 2 min, go back up, go back down, etc

I only notice it constantly mainly bc it always tends to happen when batches are posted and I can't work them

I really don't see any way this could be user specific, it just doesn't make sense in context

Yeah QBC has the "Att" column which shows the active number of attempts you can monitor. But I don't think any of the free browser scripts have this feature, could be wrong since I don't use them now

wasn't there a thing a couple of winters ago when only one side of the country or something was affected by an aws outtage? I feel like that was a thing...

 

I haven't had any issues with QBC, but when MTurk goes down, it will crash QBC and cause strange issues if I attempt to interact with it - so I just leave it alone until the site comes back online. I assumed that people were experience the same issues but did not understand why
