Medical question (might make some squeamish... just a forwarning) - Don't know if I should post this in the 'Social Hub' - I never go over there and figured more people are active/liable to read here. Please move over there if needed.

Has anyone here ever had blood in their pee or actually pee'd a blood clot? I have NO insurance, otherwise, I'd already have made a Dr. appointment - I'm well aware that is how most 'bad conditions/situations' get that way because people put things off. I had a UTI (urinary tract infection) about 2 years ago that cleared up on its own - drank tons of water with large amounts of Vit. C to acidify the urine and flush everything out.

This feels the same, but slightly different. The same feeling of having to pee/pressure right after peeing, a feeling of fluid in the urethra (but not like before which was pure suffering hell for several days as there was actually burning clear discharge).

Drank tons of water/Vit. C yesterday after there were some drops of a dark brown/greenish (?) fluid on my last pee before bed (I read that could be from a UTI, so I thought I probably had another one and it'll be over by morning or another day). Woke up this morning feeling great - pee'd perfectly. After about an hour I start getting a very noticeable pressure/ache in my right kidney (not painful at all - just palpable ache) - drink tons more water till I have to pee and then it happened. Everything was fine until my pee stream was blocked, I pushed and two tiny black-looking things landed in the toilet. Instant freakout!!! Thankfully one landed on the side of the bowl - I immediately grab a piece of toilet paper and grab/wipe it up... much to my dismay/horror it wasn't black but dark red. No questioning that it's 100% blood. My mind starts racing - what if I've been peeing blood the past few days, but from all the dilution from drinking so much water I just didn't know!

Quick medical searches offer some relief in that it is usually nothing, but should really be checked by a doctor. UTI's, bladder or kidney infections, prostatitis, or the worst obviously - cancer. So I'm left wondering what to do with no insurance. Just wait to see if it clears up like UTI? but if it's bladder or kidney, that's certainly more serious. It's certainly not any STD, due to any injury or heavy exercise/weightlifting (I literally sit most of the day due to already having med. issues... been this way for over 10yrs. now and wonder if all that sitting/pressure down there has anything to do with it).The whole issue of clotting is really concerning (obviously there is bleeding) as one medical site had the horrific narrative of the bladder being filled with clots or even the whole urethra - thus making it unable to pee at all (definite emergency). Imagine pulling a long worm-like clot out of your pee hole! My greatest fear is obviously peeing and it being FULL of blood... that would be an emergency and 'not make a Dr. appointment and wait' scenario.

Potential testings are the norm and no biggie - pee in a cup, possible ultrasound on bladder and kidneys, but then I read of possible 'tubes being inserted into the urethra' to snake around then and look w/ a camera - NO!! lol

Also, literally, nothing has changed with my diet - been eating the same thing daily for years. I eat practically no oxalates (besides a tiny piece of very dark chocolate every now and then...). I'm mostly keto/carnivore (when I used to eat tons of leafy greens - many times just raw - the oxalates never bothered me... never had any kidney stones or pain). The whole issue of a UTI even makes no sense - couldn't have caught anything spread from another person (again, I'm just by myself in an apartment - no sexual transmission, using public bathrooms, etc.). I also have no fever or ill feeling.

* Just pee'd again after this long message (sorry about that... nervous excitement) - no clots but 100% definite pink blood in it! Sigh... Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation. Thanks. I hope you all have a wonderful day compared to me!

Please go to the doctor. Perhaps you had small kidney stones that scraped along the inside and that's causing bleeding. But it doesn't really matter. You need to find out the cause of the bleeding. Yes, they will probably want to do a cystoscopy - but many male people in my life have had them and they were all able to do it without too many complaints. You don't want to mess with kidney or bladder infections. Maybe it's as simple as antibiotics if it's just an infection. But if there's any possibility that it is bladder cancer, early discovery is critical. My Dad didn't tell us when he started urinating blood and it ended up being bladder cancer and he isn't here anymore. But another older male I know discovered it early and he is still going strong. Go to a clinic.... they might be able to start you on the first tests at low cost.

id actually check about low cost clinics nearby or worst case an urgent care clinic. i would almost agree with the reply someone gave you about possible kidney stones and that possibly causing issues. imo, grab some cranberry juice, call around for low cost clinics and take things slowly.

 

On the topic of health insurance- I haven't been to a doctor or hospital in a decade+ due to no health insurance. I recently just applied for free healthcare which is based on income and varies by state, but you can do it through the federal govt website. Got approved for totally free medicaid fairly quickly and now I have free health insurance. I'm assuming its not great but it does seem to cover most stuff based on the initial paperwork, still need to dive into all that

I have the same exact experience with them. Did surveys for years, and then all of a sudden, Feb 2022, they rejected a survey with nearly identical language. I emailed, them, and never got a response. I have blocked them ever since.
