Reminds me of the last time I got called for Jury duty, same type of case. Jury selection was long, so they were going to have us return but I had a valid excuse to not be able to come back, though the judge seemed reluctant about letting me go, I understand why. As soon as they announced what he was charged with several people burst into tears, the woman next to me crossed her arms, rolled her eyes, and hmmph'ed saying that he was guilty so why do we need to be here anyway. I thought they were going to dismiss a lot of the people crying but they got no sympathy, nearly all of them had to stay for continued consideration. People were incensed about the long wait and the charges for a case they hadn't heard anything about. All of this made me realize why they were being so careful about selection, there's always a chance that the person being prosecuted is innocent. Things can get nasty during divorces, or domestic disputes, and custody battles. Who knows what could have been discovered during the lead up tot he trial and during the trial itself. Innocent until proven guilty. I had to remind myself about that when I was getting frustrated with the process. I feel like the judge should have reminded the room of that as well once people started expressing even more discontent about having to serve once they heard what the case was about.

 

Same for me the last few days. I have a few things that I can't decide if I want to do them or not (time involved and/or downloading software) and apparently no one else can either b/c they've been available for a while.

 

Just caught another one of those 2.25 Labeling Task Covid-19 hits... instructions say you can do up to 5 btw. Not sure if that includes all hits from the previous months
