4/5- Way Back Wednesday

Monday was great! Yesterday was okay on Prolific. Today is trash

 

I can't work. I just got home from walking to the store to get beer (not raining) and now its a hurricane out there and keeps knocking out my power... at least I have beer. I heart beer.

 

Unfortunately, I had to deal with RL bs on Monday and didn't start until late afternoon, so I must have missed it. That's my luck, that's my life.

 

Is Panda Crazy down for anyone else?

 

Aw, that sucks. There were a bunch of ~10 pound surveys that just involved reading/responding to AI-generated sea shanties and stories (which was weirdly adorable), those really helped

 

Has anyone tried to change About You demographics on Prolific, like if my political views changed? Scared to mess with it because of all the bans

Damn wish I had sea shanties. Only 10 pound survey I saw was essays about lizards or something.

 

Last night, while I was waiting for work, Prolific prompted me if I wanted to update some About Me questions, which I did. But I had answered all of them months ago when I signed up. They were pretty basic questions, too. They were about gender, race, political, religion, etc...

Earlier today, I started a study that seemed to be asking a lot of questions that were already in my About Me. It seemed long and underpaid, and asked for way too much info, which made me a little uncomfortable, so I canceled it. It wasn't worth the 1.20p or whatever it was.

 

I just had a Prolific survey ask me for my email address and phone number. Not today, Satan!

 

There's actually a specially formatted email address that you can use in Prolific without giving away your info, but phone number?? hell no

 

Yeah I gave them my Prolific email, but they wanted my actual email and phone number to invite to future surveys.

 

Ugh - yeah, that's the whole point of the Prolific email, that it forwards to your actual email and still protects your privacy. Doesn't sound like a good requester to work for, you made the right choice (the few times I've been asked for an email address on Prolific the requestor had no problem with the Prolific email, which worked fine - had no trouble getting the invite for the surveys later on)

 

It's actually against the rules, but I don't feel the motivation to report them. lol

 

I saw zero 10 pound surveys. I got several 2-3pound ones and some cheap stuff. Got around 15 pounds today.

 

eh, I just got lucky and happened to be sitting in my chair refreshing Prolific/having the right quals at the right time, I suspect. Almost 45 on Monday, around 20 yesterday. Would probably have made about three-fifty today if I hadn't said "no thanks" to a bunch of junk
