Thing is, plenty of us have been using QBC daily without experiencing this. So it would seem to be specific to something about your setup or what you're doing

I don't know how it works on other browsers but I run Prolific on my Brave Browser and every time a new survey is posted I get a popup alert ( and a voice alert) in the lower right hand corner of my screen. I can immediately click on the popup alert and reserve the study. Then I read it to see if I want to start it. These alerts show up well before the study shows up on the Prolific page.

The best part is I can reserve a study that way while I am doing another on MTurk, Connect or Paidviewpoint.

Interesting. I'd never heard of Brave before. Thanks for the advice!

I believe the popup/voice alert for Prolific comes from the browser extension and you won't get it without the extension installed

Brave is a great browser, but I wouldn't personally use it for studies bc a lot of reqs specifically require Chrome and they really don't like privacy features enabled, which is the central aspect Brave is built around

Also not sure about those studies alerts showing before they appear on Prolific. Sounds to me like those are studies that post large volumes, repost, etc. 98% of the alerts I get are for studies that are already full

You are correct, I have the Prolific assistant plug in installed and I have browser notifications turned on for Connect. I have found that once I started clicking on the notifications right away I started grabbing the low count studies that I could never get on the Prolific page. I have been running Prolific and Connect on Brave for many months and havent had issues with Brave privacy affecting anything. I do run MTURK, MTS, this forum and email on Chrome at the same time.

OK. Any suggestion how to fix this? I tried deleting the folder and reinstalling.

@JJ0G40 sucks to hear about that crap man. I hate dealing with cars any more, prob not the case with you since you love 'em, but I've just grown so tired of paying for all the stuff they constantly need... and its hard to find good mechanics around here like you mention. Its mostly chains and shady people

I don't think I can really expand much on what I've already said

    Individual situations seem to vary.

You mention watchers setup taking forever, I have experienced that a couple times - I ultimately just had to wait a while for it to take care of itself. If QBC needs to sync up, it may take a while.. I don't know why, but once its resolved, shouldn't need to do that again for like a couple weeks at least

what he said. it depends on all of the different shit that your running at the same time and how much/what you want to concentrate catching with what. e.g. I use MTS for batchwork and guru for higher paying surveys, well, anything over $1. but everyone wants and does different things and it really depends on the approach that you want to take. (holy shit, I feel like I'm using that finance degree) Most of us veterans had to research and just mess around with it.

Yeah.. if you're running QBC, then it should be QBC only, nothing else. With the other scripts it sounds like you can make them work together, but with QBC you should really just run QBC only. Aside from that, there may be lots of different things varying between users and we still don't even know for sure what the deal is with the MTurk error. There are ideas, but nobody really knows.

For the first time in a long time my Prolific queue is completely empty. This is weird.

Prolific is basically always empty for me. Studies show up for a few secs and are gone. Only the worst stuff stays on there for more than a few min
