4/17 - Mostly Awake Monday

Had to pay $380 in federal taxes, but got back $1,028 in DC (or state) taxes.

Where I live - Washington, DC - they have a Schedule H that gives credit to renters/homeowner's property tax. Without the Schedule H, I would've only come out about $10 ahead and not $648 ahead.

 

I was completely caught off guard this year because they changed the taxable income amount by about 1k, which meant I had to pay a good amount.

 

Have the qualtrics survey sites been loading slow & giving connection errors for anyone else? Its been constant for me the last couple days... starting to think I may need a new harddrive or something

I so wish that they gave the option to record your answer, instead of writing/typing it out. My brain/thought process works so much faster than typing it out (especially bc I'm a horrible speller and have ADD), so I struggle with matching typing and thought process to make the surveys worth my time.

These are the kinda errors I keep getting in surveys. I only see this error when taking surveys, not when I'm doing normal web browsing... its a constant thing. Anyone know what might be causing this?

 

Probably the servers that host the surveys are down, even for a couple of seconds. If not, it may be bc clearing cookies/cache from your browser is needed.

Thanks, I'll try clearing my browser cache to see if it helps. I generally ignore this error but its literally happening on almost every survey multiple times for the last 2 days

Its also the error that caused me to lose an hour of intensive writing on a hit that I wasn't able to submit...

 

it's not just you. I haven't had errors but I have cussed it many times for not going as fast as it should.

I cleaned my cache out yesterday morning so that might have fixed it for me. Not really sure, it was pretty dead yesterday and I've been working in prolific since I woke up.

 

I use Vanilla Cookie Manager (https://github.com/laktak/vanilla-chrome) on Chrome and Chromium browsers to help with clearing cookies/cache while also remaining logged in to sites. Requires a bit of tech savviness on the front end, but a big time saver compared to other cookie mangers.

For Firefox, I use Cookie Quick Manager (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookie-quick-manager/). It requires more tech savviness and overall time compared to Vanilla Cookie Manager, but is the best Firefox one that I've found.
