I just realized my cat gets more sunlight than I do each day lol.

I didn't. And in the feedback I wrote that I didn't think we were supposed to give out personal info like email - so I didn't offer it up.

 

I just entered my Cloud Research id for both. Wasn't giving them my mTurk ID.

I did, but I have control over what happens there if need be. I'll take all the lil' extra I can get lol. Not so sure about the offering both ID thing though. I don't want to give anyone power to use something against me later, aka something in this forum they may see at some point that doesn't suit their fancy...or a review I may post.

Yep, my email I use for things isn't tied to any social stuff. But also, I don't do that crap any more either.

I recommend protonmail, free, works great, not annoying like google. Can make as many accts as ya want.

Yeah, like we know that we aren't supposed to give out this stuff, but requesters don't always realize that. There's a reason why Prolific gives you a fake email based on your PID -- because it realizes requesters are going to ask for it even though they're not supposed to.

FWIW -- these are mostly researchers associated with academic entities that have super strict rules on how they can use your data. I'm not worried about my email address or WID getting shared around or spammed or connected to me in a negative way. I work at a university and holy hell are they picky about stuff like privacy!

I'm with @Calyrica. I mostly don't give AF about sharing my IDs with reqs.

Oh, yeah, that's super sketch. If you share stuff with platforms, they could use it to exclude you from things. I do draw the line there.

Requesters just want to make sure they don't get duplicate data. I can totally respect that.

 

That's the only reason I hesitate when its a survey handled by CR. I don't know how their system works in regards to what CR sees vs what only the req sees.

 

yeah but with that, Connect is CR and CR is not just it's own platform, but a tool that reqs use to create studies on turk and prolific..

 

If it's in the survey, I have no issues with it. That's already in Qualtrics, and I don't know that CR even gets to see what's in Qualtrics. That would be a huge breach of privacy and I would put money on the IRB having issues with that.
