got an email from purdue crowdsourcing to let me know they're postponing an experiment and profusely apologized because they know people set aside time and they respect it and yadda yadda.. meanwhile I'm like...

 

I signed up for them on 7/6. They said I was put on a waiting list & haven't heard anything since.

I'm getting old if the most exciting thing I bought during Prime Day was a single Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM 120mm fan from Woot. To be fair though, it was $2.95 off and Woot is the really only place that one can stand a chance at getting a discount on Noctua fans. Everything else has been household essentials like cat food and vitamins. Was hoping for a good enough discount on mini-led 32" 4k monitor (or even a 1440p) that was not an OLED, but no dice.

 

Is she still around, collecting uncomfortable answers to uncomfortable questions?

I'll be honest, this is kind of worrying for me. It's good that they have funding, but this is investing from a for-profit corporation in Partech. They're a publicly traded company, meaning that their primary interest is making money back. AFAIK Prolific was never a for-profit thing in the past, working with universities, etc. I may be wrong, but if that's a change now, then it's not good ultimately. Profit motives mean lowering our rates. That's *always* where the cost cutting starts.

 

You don't think Prolific is a for-profit company? I'm 100% sure they charge researchers to list their studies.
