We want to inform the community about a sudden increase in account suspensions since yesterday.

We already contacted Amazon about this, hoping this gets resolved as soon as possible, but at this moment, we don't know the reasons or possible causes behind it.

As a general tip for all workers, please take note of your Worker ID, Approval Rating, and Number of Approved HITs. A screenshot of your dashboard might help you save all that info.

If you get suspended, the first step would be to contact Mturk directly at [email protected], as Amazon requires this step to be taken first before they'll re-investigate an account for us.
After doing that, you can also fill out our form.
We will be following up with Amazon every two to three days until this event resolves.

During the last four years, we have been helping some of the unfairly suspended accounts be reinstated.
Unfortunately, we can't assist with all suspensions, as Amazon imposes certain limitations depending on user actions and approval ratings, among other things.
One of those limitations is that Amazon won't let us know the outcome of any of these cases, so please let us know if you receive a response from Amazon.

As workers ourselves, we understand that a suspended account jeopardizes income, the ability to meet basic needs, and the overall quality of life.

I got suspended once years ago and got it overturned a couple days later on appeal

I never did find out what happened and I would guess it's probably only gotten even more frustratingly opaque in the years since

Still have not heard from Amazon on my account suspension. I cannot believe I actually miss turking, but I do. Mostly the money. But yeah.

 

You might want to contact Turkopticon. They're taking this whole thing seriously and trying to help.

Typically, we ask that workers give Amazon a week to respond before we send an email, but because this is an unusual situation, we are forwarding all of these cases to Amazon immediately.
