Should I just leave it open and wait for something to pop up, or are there tricks to it like Mturk? Are there bad / disreputable requesters on there like Mturk, or am I safe to take whatever? Just super newbie questions... Is there a worker forum or group ,besides this great one, to join?

There was a small wave of Temu referral sham studies recently. Have also heard some don't like completing China-based studies as well, ID'd by researcher, URL/domain, etc.

 

lurk reddit to make sure you don't get burned with requests, you can always ask here if you're not sure about anything. i lurk the cloud reddit too to see what people are tossing back.

prolific is extremely straightforward, unlike mturk.. You just leave it up and wait for surveys to pop up. I like to arrange them in the order of best pay. I've never really needed a worker forum for prolific lol its that simple. I've been doing prolific survey for a year and a half and never had a single rejection.

 

This... If you're on Cloud you know what to expect.

 

You were not needed in the coloring game. You will receive the base pay of $4.50.

 

I have been on prolific for five years. I have all of the questions answered and a few I selected "This doesn't apply to me". I occasionally get notified of new questions or updated answers requested. I would answer as many as you can because sometimes they will correlate to a specific researcher/study. While I have been on MTurk longer, I have made over $10,000 more on Prolific. I rarely open Mturk anymore unless I am emailed or bored.

I am grateful for Prolific, but I do love a big dumb batch--something with effortless clicking, ideally allowing for something engaging to be playing in the background, a triple-digit payout at the end. Surveys fry me after awhile.
