Hey everyone, I am not sure if this is the right thread where to ask this so feel free to redirect me, anyways for my work I am considering to use MTurk as requester to recruit a sample in Europe. I have two main questions: - Is MTurk as widely used in Europe as in the US? How long does it take to collect around 1000 observations? - What is the average reward for a 15 minutes HIT in Europe? Thank you!
Hi @crostata! Overwhelming majority of us here are from the US, so it's very difficult to give you any meaningful advice since we just don't really have good visibility into what MTurk audience (i.e. its scale) looks like in Europe. MTurk is significantly more popular in the US. That said, I would imagine if you are targeting Europe as a whole and not a specific country, you'll probably find 1000 people to take your survey fairly quickly. Just make sure you include sensible qualifications (e.g. > 1000 HITs completed, > 98% approval rate, appropriate country quals), and also anti-bot check(s) within your survey. No clue, but probably at the very least at the rate of median minimum wage across the region you are targeting. If you are targeting Europe specifically, I would honestly suggest you look into Prolific Academic instead of MTurk. They have a very sizable European audience and a much better support team that can answer any questions you might have. It's probably going to be relatively more expensive than MTurk though (although this is debatable). Good luck with your research!
I agree with Alex. You may have better luck asking these questions in r/mturk at Reddit, but in the end, I think Prolific will be a better option for you.
