That is a horrible solution for them to offer! Lose over a decade of stats and quals? No thanks, I'll just be done on mturk if that's seriously what they're offering. Unbelievable.

Otherwise, yeah, I think the relationship between me and mturk might be coming to a close. About a decade for me too.

 

Have either of you tried emailing Jeff yet? I wouldn't start a new account, which seems like bad advice. I have seen this mentioned for Flex and it always ends up in the person getting banned on both accounts because one hand doesn't talk to the other at Amazon. At least with Jeff, they tend to offer meaningful resolutions.

Yes, I did this morning, thank you again. Just thought I'd give the customer service at least 24 hours to see what they were going to say. They told me I needed to verify my bank account (which has been working just fine for years), and that page is throwing me an error. I think I might be in a slightly different basket from everyone else.
I'm only here for VRAPI these days anyway. I'd probably just go directly to them if I can't get my issue resolved.
Also, I can't count how many times I've been warned about starting a different account over the years. There's no way I would ever.

Seems insane to me how they start their email with "we understand the importance of your MTurk account" and tacitly acknowledge you haven't done anything wrong, but then proceed to just tell you it's fucked and they can't do anything about it and you just need to create a new account, without apologizing even once. Spent over a decade doing work on our platform building up your stats/quals? Well gee, we understand how important it is to you, but how about you just start over for no reason whatsoever?
