Ugh, just got hit with the "Your Amazon Payments account has been suspended" message. Was wondering why I wasn't catching any hits today (thought my scraper wasn't on). If I try to manually accept a hit, it says "Account set up is not complete You have additional steps to complete before you can start earning rewards."

 

Sorry to hear that. Way too many such cases over the past couple days and all seem to be old MTurk accounts.
My best guess is that it's either one of these scenarios:

• a bug with Amazon Payments, in which case it's most likely going to get resolved at some point (especially since the fine folks from TurkOpticon are already on the case),
• Amazon decided to sunset their old Amazon Payments API and is basically forcing many turkers with old MTurk accounts that were somehow tied to that API to create new MTurk accounts because they can't be bothered to transition their accounts manually. Or maybe the guys who are gutting Amazon Payments don't even remember that MTurk exists.

#1 seems way more likely, but at this point nothing would truly surprise me when it comes to MTurk.

What's really weird is payments go through. So...what's the problem with my payment account?

Anyway, for anyone concerned, it seems HITs completed are still being paid out.

 

I like how @malysa is so used to me only ever low quality content messageing that you're even LOL'ing the one post where I was being serious.

 

Yeah, I did NOT expect to get paid today, so that was a nice surprise.

 

it really did make me laugh though LMAO and also, I think it might be the second option, they forgot about turk.

 

I can't work on Turk today either. Last time I couldn't even log into my account. I can log in now, just can't accept any HITs. I'm so defeated and frustrated dealing with these scummy clueless companies.
