08/28 - Out of Order Wednesday

Someone suggested if this was a hack attempt, the system would shut itself down. Whatever happened, people in the USA got burned. Shame on Amazon for not being on top of this. I think we need to be more persistent if we want to get back to work anytime soon.

Wow, I've never seen the forums so packed! Yesterday I was upset because I seemed to have a lot of issues lately, besides not being suspended. I am glad it's not just me, but not happy about the issue altogether. What bad timing too, I really needed to make some money today.

 

I'm also guessing that this is the same server issue as the payment bug. either them trying to fix the issue or a cascading effect because we can access pages we couldn't before like our transfer history which means it's not even checking if our "payment account has been suspended."

Right, the payment account suspension was the start of this. But who knows if this mass outage is them fixing it all, or the system shutting itself down.

Yup, reddit is down for me too. Maybe it's an influx of MTurkers today. lol

 

If the people apparently able to work are all in the EU, I wonder if this has anything to do with the various GDPR things we've had to fill out over the years.

 

for us with the suspension, before it would query your account when you tried to accept a hit and then say "Your account isnt set up" then it tells you "Your payments account has been suspended." maybe now it when it tries to make that query it gets back an error for everyone? I don't know.

@aimukai do you get paid from mturk through "Amazon Payments"? or do you get paid from mturk by way of a different payment system? or do you have it set up to get paid from mturk in amazon gift cards?

 

For all of us trying to use Reddit we could just fight here?
