08/29 - Trying again Thursday

Boy, all this talk about suspended account has got me worried. lol I sure hope I don't get suspended. However I have had to make my way back from a bunch of rejects from a loong time ago, so my HITs are more limited for sure. I wonder if it's a particular HIT the suspended people had done or something because I seem to be fine so far. (knock on wood)

 

It's not a particular hit. Some folks ONLY do ours and got suspended while others that only do ours didn't

In the entire month of August I have done two hits that were NOT for VacationRentals. They were a 50 cent hit for Dr. John Tripp and a $5 for Sanjana M., if anyone was wondering.

 

Do you recall creating a "payment account" when you signed up for MTurk?
I do not.

How can we be suspended over an account we did not create?
If we didn't do it, why was this account created, and by whom?

Amazon needs to give us answers.
This might need public attention to wake them up.

 

It couldn't be just random suspensions could it? God I hope not because with my luck I'll be next for sure! lmao

 

there's a million theories out there, but the "poison pill" hit or requester is one we can seemingly rule out based on what we know

 

I agree. I wish they were more vocal about their issues. Every time I had a problem and contacted MTurk about it, the only answer I have gotten was a "There's nothing we can do" kind of thing. That just shows they couldn't care less about us peons. But why, aren't we the whole reason MTurk exists, so they can get surveys done... by us?

 

It would be nice if Amazon were better at communicating. Generic responses from customer service reps isn't cutting it.

 

I might make goal today and have time to watch tv if I can keep paying attention

 

What I don’t understand is my Turk account is fine… it’s the amazon payments account that is suspended. If they wanted to ban all of us, why wouldn't they just go ahead and suspend our mturk accounts? It has to be some kind of error. Also, I haven’t received any emails from Amazon explaining the suspension at all. It’s all a mystery.

 

does anyone here still do swagbucks? I did like 11-16-ish years ago and it was okay.

I just tried doing a batch in 2 windows the nifty split kind of way. it is soooooo much faster and less brain-intensive! way better!

 

Although I couldn't accept Hits yesterday, my account did not start off suspended. Later in the afternoon that changed.

Around 4pm yesterday I received a notification from one of the credit bureaus that my social security number was found on the dark web after a breached site leaked billions of records. Not the 1st time this crap has happened to my information and that's why I already have "free" credit watch for 7 years.
I wonder if this is in any way related to that event?....

 

That was my first money making site a long, long time ago. Haven't been back in forever.

 

Do you remember making a payment account? I never made one. All my info went into the MTurk page when I signed up.

So does this automatically create an account for us? I know requesters need one of these. I am not even going to try to check and risk jinxing myself. But I do think it's bullshit if our bank info is copied onto another location.

I still think someone is trying to hack into these accounts and that's flagging something that shuts it down. I also fear if this isn't sorted out soon, workers will go the way of those requesters who couldn't get their payment accounts straightened out.
