No, I have wondered about it. I have had issues getting quals. Not their fault, just I was off of turking for a good while and now don't remember how to get them. If that makes sense.

 

I was just wondering if we had that in common because I have been working on those mostly. I haven't done many other hits over the last 2-ish weeks. except I did some noah's, and some surveys but not a lot.

 

Arre noah's still popping up in the earlier morning hours ? I haven't caught any in about a month.

 

I thought I had done some noah's about a week and a half or 2 weeks ago. but I'm not sure, it could have been a week further back than that. I have been asleep sometimes in the early morning hours and awake and turking other early mornings. I haven't seen any noah's since then.

 

you could filter hits on mturk to include ones you don't have quals for. then click the button to get the qual. I haven't tried in a long time but that's a way I used to pick up quals sometimes. other times I would do some hits, like 10-100, of different batches. I got some unfair rejections that stuck, but I also got some closed quals that way. and then there is qualifye.

 

I have done that, however clicking on the get qual button, it either says you'll get it in 5 minutes or they have contacted the requester and nothing ever happens.

 

I was getting some good quals by doing the batch sampling thing last year. but now there aren't as many batches. :thinkingface: so you do all surveys then?

 

As far as doing them and getting rejected... When I started turking a looong time ago, I was rejected quite a bit. At this point I am just trying to get my acceptance rate to 99% again. I was at 96% a few years ago and now I'm up to 98.7%. I still have about 1,000 HITs to go for that and I don't want to mess it up. Which that rejection earlier hurt because I have been trying so hard to get it up.

 

Yup, I do em all subjectively. Pick-Fu and Ben Peterson, etc. I jump on all the studys I can.

 

Correction, I am now at 98.67% now after that rejection today.

 

same thing happened to me!!! but for me, that was sooooo long ago, like idk even know when, maybe 2009. but yeah right now I have 10,840 rejections. don't worry your approval rate will go back up too and you will succeed on mturk.

 

I hope they overturn that but even if they don't you can get it back up there.

 

I hope so too, that's why earlier I asked if anyone had any success getting them overturned...

 

Yes, I have in the pasted, a lot of requesters do not realize it hurts us. But it's easy to get it up again.

 

@turker I think it's interesting that I started turking in 2008, which is when I got my rejections, and these forums and Turkopticon didn't exist. It's nice to know there are others doing the same thing. I joined the forums just a few months ago, it's nice to meet you guys.. I don't feel so all alone anymore.
