08/31 - Laundry Saturday

Michael sounds like he is trying to be helpful, I wonder if he would be able to look at your payments account and see how it was compromised. This isn't something that happens to hundreds of accounts for no reason.

 

I was hit with this after the site was "Fixed" on Wednesday. My back and forth with Amazon has went from "Everything's fine" to "Everything wasn't fine but it is now" to "Amazon only uses Amazon Pay for verification, but fuck you, eat a bag of dicks."
However, when I check my Amazon locker, my throat is left unvoliated and my hunger for meaty members unsatiated.

My transfers are set for Saturday. Last week's went without a problem, and I suspect I'm using the same obscure Colorado bank that @turker does. So, for me, there was a large gap between transfer and suspension/

Today's transfer seems to have gone at the same time as it typically has in prior weeks - the two messages from Amazon were sent at about the same time as last week.

On the Amazon end, it now shows $0 in pending earnings (from my relatively decent chunk that had been there).
Both https://worker.mturk.com/earnings and https://www.mturk.com/mturk/transferearnings redirect to the https://worker.mturk.com/check_registration page.

Counseling and court orders have informed my decision not to put any mention in this post about the proximity of active volcanoes in Washington state to Amazon's headquarters there, nor speculation about the current load carrying capacity of consumer drones.

still not suspended but it seems like a matter of time. when I look at my amazon payments page, it says my bank account is unverified. I feel like I should try verifying it before they suspend me but I also don't want them to suddenly turn the Eye of Sauron my direction

my account page says my bank account is verified so it doesn't matter. amazon has been hacked. they don't want anyone to know apparently.

 

My deposit email just came through, been suspended since Monday smh.

 

My account page also shows my bank account is still verified. Crossing my fingers my deposit goes through tomorrow and all the hits I have pending are approved (they're all on a 7 day approval timer) and go through as well.

well technically it has what looks to be the same bank account twice with 1 verified and 1 unverified with a slightly different name but I think that's just because I changed the name on my mturk account to be my full legal name instead of just first and last out of paranoia to better match my bank years and years ago

 

I changed my deposit to later in the month, in case that's what triggers it lol

Just woke up and seeing more of us banned is beyond upsetting. It's really annoying how Amazon Payments and MTurk team at this point must have a flood of emails and still just go "we don't know, it's someone else's fault" or the basic "I can confirm your Amazon Payments is suspended, make a new account" from the Payments team.

I don't have really anything to add, just keep emailing if you can. There's got to be a more significant outcome than them pretending this isn't a massive leak/breach/bug/whatever is happening internally.

 

Sorry I have been quiet today - I'm now taking the public "are you hiding a data breach" approach. Maybe tagging the FTC will freak them out.

I also had a personal email thread with MTurk team during the slowdowns that were occurring about a month ago.

I cannot get them to reply in regards to my account or the situation at large. That email domain is also [email protected], but they won't reply to me on that conversation anymore, when prior I would see replies in under 24 hours.

 

Some people on Reddit say they are contacting tech reporters. That'd hopefully bring attention to it, but I just don't know who would be good to contact.

There was another suspension issue this year? Did that end up getting resolved?
