Yes, in the beginning of the year, everyone who did a hit for a requester that paid out a huge bonus got suspended, even the requester. Public pressure and eventually political figures got involved. It was overturned for everyone.

 

That makes me kind of hopeful... assuming we can bring enough attention to it.

 

That's crazy, I didn't end up doing the task but wasn't that being run by a defense contractor w/ the US Air Force? I remember the emails were a .mil address and had all sorts of official credentials in the signature

 

That's why TO is blowing them up on socials and talking to reporters, they don't respond to us privately so this is what has worked in the past.

yeah and I was banned too in that. And I had been in a bus accident, broke my wrist, hard cast on my arm, had unrelated surgery scheduled for like 2-4 weeks later, I don't know what I would have done without TO's help!

 

Find it weird how I can do a qualification test and submit it without a problem but when trying to do a task, I get the “suspended” message.

The main difference with that situation and this one is our mturk accounts are not banned. They don’t need to be reinstated because they didn’t go anywhere. We can still sign in. Pretty sure most of us can do $0 HITS and take qualification tests. There’s people on Reddit that say this dumpsterfire started for them back in May/June. Wish mturk would come out and tell us what the heck is going on, instead we’re all just left in the dark.

In a June filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Amazon warned investors that its continued rapid expansion can "place significant strain" on various aspects of the business, including operations, systems and technical performance.

 

if they don't know what they are doing, they should not be doing it. now, they are leaving holes for cyber attacks

 

Those account breaches weren't caused by a strain on the system alone.
