Yes, I am in US. My approval rating is 99.27%. I have never done that particular HIT before.

 

@surveycub2024 is the error below the one you see when you try to accept hits? or is it a different error that says you aren't qualified? because this just means you need to find hits you want to do, and have the quals for, and set up pandas for them.

this is the error we all see when a hit has been taken by everyone else so it isn't up anymore. but it might be available again later.

By the way.. I truly appreciate how helpful everyone is. Together... along the way we can become great Turkers. I really am glad I came across this forum.. I honestly am doing better turk work since starting in March by learning about more avenues about how to find HITs that pay and such. I had no idea about any of this prior to a few weeks ago... How many folks are new to the world of turking... I will start.. I am a new turker as of March 2024.

 

It does sometimes, but when I add all HITs it shows that some of the HITs are no longer available. Some will give me that I am not qualified... would love to know how to get qualified for more and better paying HITs if that is such a thing. Also, does clicking on the request qualification at the side matter?? I have clicked some before and nothing ever became of it... I found a link that had qualification tests a while back.. not sure those worked, but I did have a few quals that did qualify me.... still at the end of the day.. HITs are very few in number that I qualify for, I think today the highest was 9 out of the 410 HITs.

I'm busy with a hit I started and might not be on the forum for an hour or more, but will check back later.

 

Ok.. on a good note... I was able to get 2 HITs. Still making sure I have settings correct where I will not inadvertently screen out any possibilities of getting actual HITs I qualify for.

 

how many pandas do you set up each day? in hit catcher or like I use panda crazy. I don't know what the ideal number of pandas is. when you have time to turk if a hit is caught, try to have let's say three pandas running at all times. the setting up a panda, running it, then deciding when it's no longer useful and getting rid of it, that should be integrated into your turking routine. when you aren't actively working on a hit, you should be basically babysitting pandas at this time. that will also give you time to check the requester's approval rate before deciding to add a panda. you shouldn't do any hits for requesters with less than a 99% approval rating for you in particular for a long time. like, maybe a year.

in theory you should also be doing penny batches to increase your numbers and buffer against rejections. in reality, you are having a hard time understanding pandas and just focus on that until you get the hang of it.

@surveycub2024 copying the A and B steps and mini steps below into a text file on your desktop for reference would help.

1. do you have the qualifications to do this hit?

2. is the requester's approval rating 99% or higher?

3. is the hourly rate high enough that you will really do this hit if you catch it?

B. is the answer yes to all three questions above?

1. yes - set up a panda

2. no - don't set up a panda. continue looking for another hit to set up a panda for.

repeat the entire A and B circle above until you have 3 pandas running. leave each 1 running for let's say 2 hours? before deleting that panda and looking for a replacement for it.
