I have to travel a lot to visit family. I do plan on using my laptop and moving it around A LOT. I also don't really have a place to set up a desktop for gaming, I like sitting on the couch playing on my computer with the husband next to me on the xbox.

The one I've got my eye on is only around $1400, but I always spring for Dell's accidental damage. I'm a horrible klutx and a jinx and I've had to do so many repairs on my previous dells that it always plays for itself. The only reason this dell has been lasting for as long as it did is because I had the coverage and had it basically rebuilt at around 3 years due to various things on it breaking. It's only lasted this long past the warranty expiration because the battery is dead so it functions as a desktop currently.

 

In the world of workstations for certain stuff, you need to be on a 2 year cycle minimum. That's mostly for video rendering though. You don't want to be left behind in that field and if you can save 10 minutes on rendering an hour of video it will pay for itself anyways. Now with 4k and soon enough 8k, updating is crucial.

 

I built my desktop for half of that in 2011 and it's still gaming strong so ys. Thank you based 2500k

But can you play modern games on max settings? If you can't, I demand you promptly go out and drop at least $2k on upgrading every single component.

 

No. I am still running my i5 2500k lol I mean I have a rx480 but I picked that up for under $200 awhile ago.

Don't ask me how much I have spent on HDD space though
