I pay for gold so I can play online with some friends. I know the logic the games aren't free because gold is required but it's a nice bonus.

 

I agree. They are a shit studio, but I just didn't understand the amount of insanity over it. I mean I've been gaming since...1980 ish... and I've bought some shitty games that were nothing like the developers said it would be. It happens in that kind of industry, but people really went on a witch hunt after those guys. I think it's actually bad for video games as a whole because if they get bankrupted over people throwing this big of a fit it will scare away a lot of indie developers from the market and we'll get nothing but EA games lol.

I don't get why they charge you to pay online for console games.. PC has never had that sort of charge and they could never get away with it. (This doesn't count MMOs ofc as they are their own thing) But I guess at least they are trying to give you more money for the sub cost now.

I've tried them a couple of times over there years and never had much success. I've ended up with cracked or scratched discs several times and often my queue was full of titles there were unavailable and waiting... I may give them another shot with my ps4 coming in though.

 

That won't happen. Well perhaps that will happen on the consoles.. but PC will always have great indie games like Stardew Valley, FTL ect.

 

I doubt it will scare off indie developers but it will make established studios more reluctant to release games because of potential backlash. Ahem half-life 3

I game on everything lol so gamefly is super useful to me. I cant wait long enough for steam sales on a lot of stuff. I play a bunch of online games and so many of the games user bases are dead by the time it is cheap enough for me to try a game I wasnt sure about in the first place. I mostly only play PC exclusive and little indie title when I do pc game.

Fair enough...And to be honest I do play Nintendo games.. but I don't normally compare them to the other consoles. A lot of PC guys go PC + Nintendo stuff for obvious reasons. (Hopefully the switch will be good)

 

Indie is pretty safe in that regard! Lower teams, lower budgets and so on. It'll really only scare other AAA publishers. That aside, the reason it blew up so badly was due to how the creator kept being vague about everything the game had to offer. Vague led to people creating their own theories and those theories would always end up being the 'perfect' game to them. When that reality got busted, people flipped out. Moral of the story, never be vague about what your game has to offer! Especially when you're new to the market. Only reason other people get away with it is because of publisher/studio loyalty from other games, else we'd of witch hunt'd Bioware for Dragon Age 2.

 

Yea but big studios like EA don't give two squirts if people throw a fit. They have more money than they know what to do with so even if one game goes totally belly up and they refund it all they aren't going to be out of business by a long shot. These little developers that get a big hype and following get one shot and if they take a hit like that they are ruined.

 

I'm the opposite. I moved to Colorado in May last year with my ex and was super excited to experience wintertime and a lot of my friends have moved to the mountains and are constantly posting pictures of snow. I'm enjoying my last winter down here (I'm planning on moving back in March) but damn do I wish there was some winter beauty here. Let's trade spots

 

A lot people I have talked to have a big problem waiting for games but if you time it right you will get about 95% of new games withing 3-5 days of them coming out which Ive been doing forever now. You just have to make sure you put the game you want on the top of your list about a month before the new game comes out and then have a blank slot three days before it releases and bam you get it mailed to you on the day before launch day. I literally have never had a game that was scratched bad enough not to work, not once, Ive seen friends get those in redboxes plenty of times though, you might have had bad luck.

 

I haven't ever experienced a proper winter.. I think I have seen it snow once when I went camping.
