01/06 - Fantastic Friday!

Well I originally tried it like two months after they started and then probably a year or two after that so in fairness to them it's been a LOOOONG time and they have likely worked out many of the issues. My console playing died down considerably for many years but now with a ps3 and 4 I'll be playing more.

 

Well, its 44 degrees here and thats enough for my modem to go retarded...phone wifi it is.

Negative four around here, with a wind chill of about negative twenty five. So, uh, good time to do absolutely nothing.

 

I can't justify paying the monthly fee not knowing how much time I'll spend playing in a given month. I've only spent 19 hours on FFXV and most of that was during the week of staycation from work. If I've got 30min - 1hr then I usually just play Rift cause it's free.

I really wish we had a redbox close to me so I could rent a game when I have a day off but it's a 20min drive to the closest one

 

But the difference with EA and pretty much any other American video game development company is that EA actually has/owns a good number of great video game series. Companies like Valve literally can't afford to make a shitty Half-Life 3 or their entire fanbase will leave, much like Bethesda who only has Fallout and Elder Scrolls. If I was an indie developer I could potentially create a game and if its shitty I just move on to the next project without really worrying about anything cause I'm not established yet.

Basically the stakes are lower for EA because they have a crap load of series to rely on and for indie developers because they aren't known for the most part anyway, yet for anyone in the middle it can potentially be a death sentence to create an absolutely shitty game.

 

I hope it's at least as good as a Wii U, only mobile, and Im sold lol. I actually own more Wii U games even though I have all three consoles so I enjoyed it a lot more than most.

My mom use to say that it should snow between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM when most people are sleeping. There would be time for the roads to get cleaned up before you had to deal with it and you could still have the beauty

 

What I'm hoping for from the switch is that all the games that used to be mobile only will now see a 'console' release of sorts because they won't be selling a new 3ds.

For example monster hunter and pokemon but at 1080p on the TV

 

That's a fair perspective, but the indie developers can also go into massive bankruptcy worthy debt making any possibility of a second chance basically null and void.

The best Christmas of my childhood my dad got me a bright orange toboggan and it started snowing in the middle of the night so he woke me up at like 2am in the morning and I lost my damn mind. I was convinced Santa knew it would snow. Seeing as Santa was my dad and he looked at the weather, yes he did. Also if it was snowing at 4am the roads would still have been a hot mess by the time I was up a couple hours later for school!

The lowest monthly fee is like 12 dollars or something and redbox charges three bucks a day for new gen games so theyre crazy expensive but just to try it out I could understand that. The way I look at it, I could pay for an entire year of gamefly for the cost of less than three new games and you can turn it off and on whenever. I game a lot though, like too much, so gamefly is a huge money saver.

 

Yeah, it's a long story but he knocked him off a roof on accident one year and had to take over.

i had gamefly a while ago when i console gamed and it was amazing. i loved how you could click keep and just buy the game you currently had.

 

They should make that into a movie, I'm sure it would be awesome.
