08/24 - Tailor Swiffed Thursday!

We are making him a little clean room basically with his own air purifier, air humidifier, and a tank of friggen oxygen. Yes, that's right, he was reccomended oxygen when he has wheezing fits until they figure out wtf is happening to cause them. We are gonna scour the house and in the meantime, set him up in his own little special room. I think we are going to see a different vet because I'm super mad the vet didn't want to do the bloodwork tuesday and now, shocker, wants him in for bloodwork monday and then to see a specialist?

Yeah, so, we may end up taking him to the vet Matt's mom uses, who is pricier but whatever, will actually do bloodwork right then and figure out WTF is happening. I don't care if I need a tiny cat inhaler for Bearnie (cause that's a thing that exists) or oral steriods or whatever, I'll fucking transfuse my own blood into him if that's what he needed. Blood sacrifice? Witchcraft? Tiny kitty cat sized iron lung?

I talked to my other vet Bearnie saw in SC, and he was displeased with the way the new vet is handling it and gave me some helpful suggestions on how to help him until we figure out what's wrong exactly,and he is somewhat better for the moment. I had to make him his own spacer and made a room all steamy for him- he's fairly chipper now but earlier was repeatedly wheezing to the point it sounded like a dog barking.

I'm exhausted, send help.

C-SATS have actually made me a little worried about how many rekt vaginas there are in the world.

 

We think something in the house might be exacerbating his asthma issues, which is why we are gonna put him in the master bath with the humidifier/purifier/oxygen setup so we can scour the vents and search the basement and whatnot. He's definitely had wheezing issues in the past but never this bad so we are trying to figure out if something made it worse or if it's just getting worse as he gets older. The old vet thinks the new vet was being really irresponsible by not testing for a few infections he could have on Tuesday, especially with his x-ray showing his lungs were so cloudy.

It just seems odd that out of 5 animals, he's the only one having this exact issue. Holly does have a little rash and she pulled a bunch of her own butt hair out yesterday so we are wondering if it's the same cause, different reactions. Porgy, Frank, and Skeeter are totally fine. I've had 2 asthma attacks since we moved in, which was odd for this time of year for me, which could be coincidence or something is up in the hvac system that might be making Bearnie and I both wheeze.

We are trying to cover all our bases and make Bearnie as comfy and safe as possible in the meantime, cause he seems to be much more sensitive to things than the rest. I about lost it when the vet asked me if he possibly had feline leukemia and seriously, THAT IS YOUR JOB LADY, TO TELL ME THAT.

just from what you said it does sound like it might be something in the air. maybe you should set up a tent for yourself in the bathroom too?
