10/03 - Totally Technical Tuesday!

I've actually done nothing but obsessively research bunnies for the last 5 or 6 days, so I've actually got quite a bit of information already. He does indeed have a bunch of timothy hay in his box, and I set up a makeshift hay rack above it out of paper towel rolls, lol.

I found out about the blind spot when I started looking up rabbit vision, due to him not being able to find a treat in front of his nose. Luckily he has not freaked out on me and is, like, the most chill rabbit I could imagine. He gets playful with me, and sometimes spazzes out and runs back to his cage (large dog kennel I happened to have -- I'm letting him free roam when I am right there to supervise, which is most of the time), but he has yet to attempt to attack me in any way, thank goodness. He is unfortunately seeming to bond with me very quickly; which feels nice, but I probably won't be able to keep him, so that also sucks.

I think his nails might already need a little bit of a trim, but I'm being very careful not to frighten him or make him afraid of me during this first week, so I may put that off for a few more days (he isn't comfortable letting me hold him yet, despite all the videos I've watched about how to properly pick up a rabbit). I might also ask the vet to do the first trim while we're there tomorrow, since he's going to be a bit stressed out anyway and she will be able to do it much faster than I would.

The first time he flopped, I was like.... Oh no. He's sick. He's dead? Bunny?! *furious googling* Oh. He's relaxed and happy. Whew! He does that shit like fifteen times a day now, and I keep taking pictures, but he just keeps looking like a dead rabbit so I don't show anyone those. Haha.

He did his first binky yesterday! Oh my goodness it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
