I'm not even used to this level of scrutiny. The last job I worked we literally had a "beer fairy." The CEO's exec assistant dressed up as a fairy every single week and delivered beers to our cubicles every Friday. Like actually in a costume and everything. I figured if that was safe in real life corporate that mTurk wouldn't even blink.

That's the thing, if we had a uniform work culture I'd be down w/ that atmosphere. But - especially w/ mTurk - we get a lot of academic requesters, and there is some evidence even if they don't interact the mTurk team does keep track of the various social outlets - its easier to just err on the side of lameness as a default.

Half the time people pop in in the WORST possible time too. Some marijuana HIT will pop up and the ENTIRE FORUM is talking about weed (which, despite state laws, is still federally & obviously TONS of people have their hang ups with it) and some researcher from like BYU will be like "Hey guys! ...oh.. oh wtf" LOLOL
