just be persistent and don't let those things discourage you as it has many trying to learn, especially those that teach themselves, after about 6 months of solid legit learning/practicing the major chords and you feel confident enough to be able to play some of them without looking at your fretting hand, turn out the lights and try to play them in the dark, I did this guitar ninja exercise when I was first learning and it helped me... but right now just work on getting past the finger pain with fretting, one step at a time
