This part in particular was killing me, I had to take a break and tend to cooking my food before I could come back and read the rest.

I know nothing about tattoos so excuse me if this is a stupid question, but can you not get them removed instead of drawing over them?

No clue which is worse / more painful.. Just thinking about the HIMYM episodes where Ted gets the tramp stamp removed lol.

Thank you!! Maybe when it is finished Next session won't be until December and I can only sit through about 3 hours total before I can't take it anymore. Think there's a good 12-15 hours worth of work left to be completed.

Here's mine, it's much less complicated! I got it to celebrate 5 years past having ARDS and being on life support for a loooong ass time. At the time, the doctors weren't confident I would walk out of the hospital, much less make it to the 5 years later mark. I got the design to match my little stool (and a bunch of other items of mine) because I figured every basic Grinch on the planet had a similar hummingbird tattoo and I would do something a little different.

 

Congrats on finding a great artist, and congrats on the fucking badass tattoo! Can't wait to see it completed!

I've never had one removed before, so I don't speak from personal experience, however it's supposed to be more painful to do so. The new one holds a lot of meaning to me and in general I think is gorgeous and am happy to have it on my body, but if I had started with a clean slate I think it would have been impossible for me to agree to getting such a large, painful piece.

The original was BAD and had to go. 16 year old me didn't make great choices and really loved the Doors. I still sometimes don't make great choices and love the Doors, but now I have a much prettier tattoo
