I'm pretty much just a lurker here, but I wanted to chime in with some support. Add me to the list of women who married an (abusive) mistake at a young age! I was with him since 15, married at 21, and just left him about 3 years ago at 30 years old. I'm SO glad I made that choice. It was very hard, not necessarily even just emotionally, it's the actual act of the divorce that is draining...the separating of all of the stuff, figuring out placement for the kids, and for me, getting the restraining order. But it is SO worth it. I know it doesn't feel like it now, but someday this will all be a distant memory that you look back on, and you'll pat yourself on the back for leaving him and doing what's right for you. *hugs*

You won't have really hit crazy cat lady until you have made Matt screen in half the yard for a kitty run. I bet the cats (and the dogs) would like this.

Thank you so much for the support. We don't even have any kids or any property to really divide (I provided EVERYTHING and my god if he wants the dining room table I purchased than so be it to get out). It's still incredibly hard, even though he's been abusive. But I know I'm not the first or the next or last that will go through it and I don't have any choice but to make it through the other side. I not even kidding jokingly told @, that I loved him for telling me I have a tiny waist earlier and it's entirely because I've been told my entire relationship I've been fat. I almost cried in happiness being told my waist looked thin and this was before the divorce was "official." Ya'll I'm sorry for being so personal/emotional.

Post breakup with my wife was way easier overall than the girl I was talking about before. She became a head case the last 6 months we were together. She started breaking my stuff, cutting up my clothes, and then eventually escalated to physical violence. I was only 23 and in love and I thought I could fix her, so I probably stuck it out a few months more than I should have, but live and learn.

After we broke and moved out, she kept tracking me down. She would call my parents and tell them all this crazy shit about me, like that I was selling drugs and sleeping with hookers and going to underground gambling rings. It was nuts the shit she would come up. Then I guess she found out that I was staying at my brother's house, so she came by when no one was home and stole my dog outta the backyard. I thought it got out somehow and was checking animal services like twice a day for a week and going around the neighborhood looking for him everywhere. Then, I get a letter in the mail with pictures of her and him together. I almost went out and bought a gun. I went to sister's house to see if she would help me find my dog, but she said her sister had moved to Ohio. The police couldn't do much because the dog was both of ours since we had it when we lived together, so the matter was civil.

Of all the things that have ever happened to me, nothing hurt nearly as much as having my dog stolen. She ended up sending me pictures of them together at Christmas for the next couple years.

You are strong and you will get through this. And, if you're "fat," hello, I'd love to be fat. Cause, bb doll, you're gorgeous and a half!

I wonder if your ex and my ex are long lost siblings. That is all sorts of awful.

I'm truly sorry about your dog, I can't even imagine how terrible that must have been. I'm sorry you had to go through it, and I'm glad you're away from that insane hoebag now.

Reading back through the forum from the last two hockey periods.

Holy shit, guys. I love you and I'm sorry life is horrible sometimes.

At some point or another, we all have this devastating period of time that we think we won't make it through. Sometimes more than once. But you know what? We do make it through. When it's cards on the table, no choice, do or die, we find out what we're made of -- and we learn that we are stronger than we ever thought we could be. There are numerous examples of that strength and resilience posted over the last couple of pages here, and even more that keep to themselves. You know this in your heart, I'm sure, but you are going to be okay (@jsxca , and everyone else going through similarly hard times), life will get better, and happiness most certain will find you again. You're loved, and you're awesome.

    That is all.

We are renting right now and convinced the landlord to completely screen in one of the covered decks :) Tiger loves going out there to sniff the outdoors when we don't have time to walk him.

Omg, I'm so sad that I can but I can totally relate. I came home to all my stuff literally just slashed and in the garbage. All my clothes and shoes and everything. I'm so, so sorry about your dog. Mine tried to take my dog, but I got him back. He hates my dog though so I'm not surprised.

@jsxca I'm glad you shared about your impending divorce and what happened over the weekend. Don't be embarrassed about admitting what happened, it wasn't your fault. And the more you share, the more this sounds like it is for the best and you need just distance yourself from him. This was not heading in a good or healthy direction for you. I haven't been in a relationship anything like yours, but I am a child of divorce. It is not the end of the world, you will be okay and there is a light at the end of the tunnel even if you can't see it yet.

Jeeves was ahead of his time. Look at all these voice assistants going on the market now. Alexa. Google Home. Too bad the hardware didn't quite exist then when AskJeeves first came out. They probably would have been the first to implement it.
