NY GDP is over 1 trillion, Texas clocks in around 1.6 trillion. So, still quite large. And let's not act like NYC isn't the most populous city or that even LI doesn't bring in a higher GDP than most states.

So, no. California and Texas are bigger, but if you're going to start naming off big states with large numbers, you would be stupid not to include NY on the list with California and Texas.
