A cool feature for the daily thread would be if highly-upvoted posts received some sort of "stickyness" (or "limited persistence") in proportion to their reactions and with reaction-weighting (i.e., "useful" being valued more than "nomnom", which itself would be more valued than "like", which would in turn be a higher value than "haha").

A little "daily thread highlights bar" that shows the top 5 or whatever would probably be useful for people who don't monitor the thread all day long.
