Did I accidentally post on PFjerk, not personal finance? Are the people who I always see giving great advice out of their respective little reddit offices for the weekend already? Am I in a parallel universe?

 

I have some credit cards that have been inactive for many years. He has a point.

 

Its reddit.. You have to attach a corny joke, some personal backstory (relatable to the audience, not you) or somehow work in that you're a "hot grill" on the Internet (truth is irrelevant here, I'm a hot grill on all my "HELP ME PLEASE" reddit accounts)

Reddit is something I have never ventured in to.. it seems like a shit show.

 

Even though I do read a lot of posts on personal finance, I quit posting/commenting on there because people were always dicks to me.

 

Parts of it are amazing, parts of it are crap, parts of it shouldn't be allowed to exist in the civilized world.

It depends on the creditor. Some will close your account after 6 months of no transactions.

There are a ton of pretentious snobs on there, a lot of obvious advice, and a sprinkle of wonderfully sound financial advice. Being in finance, I like reading over there but so many of the posts can be summarized by saying "don't spend more than you earn, and if you already have then either decrease your spending, or increase your income. Follow the flow chart and have a nice day."
