Best way to make sure @Randomacts doesn't reply to your post is to increase the word count?

    Hahaha.

Yeh but you're giving people misguided advice to use multiple monitors when high-res is the way forward.

Multi low-res is better than single low-res, but high-res is better than both.

It isn't misguided. High res displays still suck in windows and they are also more expensive. We are talking about people that are turking on toasters ffs.

I'll have you know that my laptop is clearly better than a toaster. It is at least a toaster oven.

A decent 4K monitor can be easily found on Amazon in the $250-$300 range.
Even compared against the cheapest 1080p with decent reviews, which are $80 each, the 4K comes out either cheaper or around the same price.

    Multi 1080p:
    $80 x 3 = $240
    $80 x 4 = $320

    Single 4K:
    $250 x 1 = $250
    $300 x 1 = $300

There's also other benefits I didn't mention in my mini-essay as well, such as videos looking amazing, and not having to stare at a bezel when you want something to expand bigger than 1920x1080.

You are forgetting the fact that the 4 1080p displays will be higher quality than the cheap 4k display.

The $300 4k displays on the market are pretty garbage.

Depends on your standards, I guess.
If you're comparing to $2000+ graphic design monitors, I'd see your point.
But compared to multiple $80 1080p monitors, they're much better.

This one is pretty damn good:

Except this won't work if you don't mind Inquisit HITs. Multi-monitor is the way to go with those.

Not for me, though, F Inquisit.

What do you mean? You just hit Ctrl+Windows+(Left/Right) Arrow in Windows 10, and it bounces to a different desktop. EZ PZ.
    '
Which segues into another benefit I missed:

When you buy a single nice 4K, you get several 4Ks in software as a consequence of virtual desktop integration.

27in is way too small for 4k until windows stops being shit at display scaling.

You missed the "sit closer" advice in bold earlier, as a consequence of avoiding my mini-essay.

You'd be amazed at how easily you can read a nice 27" 4K display at 100% scaling once you stop making life hard on yourself by placing it too far away.

Make sure your monitor is the same distance you'd hold your phone at, and you're golden.
