It depends on how I’m cooking it. If it’s on a grill, I’ll definitely go with cheese directly on top of the patty. But right now in the Midwest it’s cold and I’m cooking them in a pan and I like my buns toasted, so they go into the broiler with the cheese on the bun to melt it better. I’m a condiment queen so my burgers are always a mess no matter what order the ingredients go on.
