11/08 - Woot Woot Wednesday!

Annette? She was too much a departure of their style for me. I thought it was a poor choice to pick her. I really tried listening to the first album with her, and while I liked some of the songs a lot (The Poet and the Pendulum and Eva are really great) I really couldn't get past her voice, and that album just kinda got shelved after a month or two... kind of a shame when I still listen to Ghost Love Score regularly.

 

Atreyu has basically always been the same people.



They've always gotten me to swing weights around more violently.

 

this sounds like a sports question related to something non-rocket league.....

so, no.

 

I haven't listened to Atreyu since came out. I still have one of their older albums lying around in that shoebox I use to stash old CDs, though.

 

We reside in WV, neither of us associates with sports... except esports.. and only a few lol

 

What esports? I never really got into watching anything besides TF2 because it always seems so slow paced and confusing.

 

I like all of their albums, but that one was my least favorite for sure.

 

Yeah, there's a reason I don't listen to Atreyu anymore. The reason being that I pick up new bands all the time and rarely have time to visit old high school favorites because I think listening to the same bands over and over is kind of boring. Nice for a nostalgia trip every now and again, they're on the "music I listened to when I was 15" playlist and it's still surprisingly solid.

I mean, I still eat steak even though I ate it when I was 15. Still tastes good.

 

Never was a fan of steak, but I used to love pickles when I was younger and can't stand them now. Tastes change. Some tastes stay the same. Plus, there's styles of music I'm more interested in than what I was interested in when I was 15.

That security guy reminds me that while at my university, we beat our rival & stormed the field. But as I was trying to get from the stands to the field, the band leader was hitting us in the head with his megaphone trying to get us to stop.

My favorite thing about Atreyu is the same reason I like South Park:

They can be philosophical and politically incorrect without being cheesy.

I have a pretty damn wide palate for music.

But my tastes are segregated by activity.

Atreyu is the type of stuff I play when I lift. The poppier EDM stuff is what I listen to when I work on batches on mTurk.

 

I just put on whatever I'm into at the time in a big playlist on Foobar while I fail miserably at the most basic of jump maps.

 

ya all are acting like it is Friday around here.

 

I literally have different MP3 players for different activities. Lol.
