I had started a fruitful Search Panda and it acquired the name and ran for a few days and was showing 2-9 as the number range which I gathered was 7 numbers in memory so I surmised that some of those numbers were no longer used and deleted it and created a fresh one off a brand new GID that I knew was good and it would not acquire the name (Dermott Lynott) for 5 days of refreshing the GID so I don't know what the deal is with that

 

Yeah, but most schools and colleges. won't let you use your smart phone during tests.
Ti-89 is allowed on the AP Calculus test. Smart phone is not. (I tutor this test, that's how I know).

That looks like one of those "in case of emergency" books that I would read, understand, remember, and totally disregard until I'm backed into a corner and need it.

They have a patent on the technology, they don't have to make it "cheap".
The calculator hasn't changed in decades.

Think of all the things you buy, not just calculators that are priced like that.

And there is one that has a much better screen - the TI-84 Plus CE cost $130 and has color and cleaner fonts.

 

Every second PC is searching for some panda is a second it's NOT searching for dermots or madlabs or whatever.

I'm NOT telling you what to do but I would lighten the load on PC and put all that on OW. I used to run 30 pandas at once, now 5 at the most at a time. If you're running that GID code in OW you will see the GID right away. Grab it throw it in PC and leave it until it turns purple or you just want the resources for something else like sats. I only run 1 panda then. Again here's the results I get. Hope that helps some.





I try to delete them often. You can see they throw out a lot. Like 3 to 5 a day. They like to chit chat through email as well so if you have any questions for them it only takes minutes for them to answer usually but they are British Time so.

Is there a reason you save all these like this? I'm legitimately asking, not a native PC user so I don't understand the purpose of it since it looks like none of them have searches going.

They have essentially a monopoly on that market, and charging less than the market would bear would go against the company's only reason for existing.

Competition is the only factor that would change this scenario, and the schools are the ones mandating this particular calculator and therefore reinforcing the monopoly. If anyone should be viewed in a bad light, it's the schools, rather than the company.
