FYI,

I just got harassed by a requester demanding my zip code. I normally do not provide this info on surveys. I let him know this was personally identifiable info that we are not advised to give out and sent him a link to Mturks TOS where it says that. He responded by saying Mturk said he cannot ask for a "phone number or email address" in the example shown in the TOS, and that he was not asking for that. I told him personal info is not just limited to a phone and email, and that he already had my name and email just by sending me a message on Mturk. If I gave my zip he would basically know exactly who I am and where my house is. This is the second time in one week I have been asked for my zip, and both requesters are foreign. He replied back, but I'm not responding anymore. So keep an eye out. Do not give out any personal info.

They do not have your name or email. You need to reply to them or send a message to them in order to make them have that info. So, just do not send them message.

I am. I am mad I even responded in the first place, because now he has my name and email. I don't like part about Mturk. Do not send any requesters a message or respond unless it is absolutely crucial. If you get rejected, oh well. It's not worth someone finding out your identity.

Is there a way to save exactly how all of my windows are set up in chrome? I have a weird set up between my two monitors and all that has been nice and would love to keep it. Especially with all the same tabs open.

 

I mean, why not just use the zipcode of a neighboring county? They are just using it for demographics usually, because regional trends exist and all that. If you don't want to use your exact zip, just one a handful of towns over?

 

Yes, that is what I just responded with above. Do not send or reply to any emails on Mturk. I'm not using that feature anymore.
