I got ISTP-t...there were a few accurate points, but some were pretty off.

 

She's referring to personality type classifications that almost all come from some psychology paper in like the mid-80's or some such. Its evolved over the years as random business "gurus" have adopted/adapted it to sell to companies as "team-building" activities/etc.

I've yet to work with a company who doesn't use them, IME they're alright for fleshing out dynamics in a team based company/organization but nothing be-all end-all in the world.

Google Carl Jung if you care and that'll lead you down the Wikipedia path to where most of this stuff sprouts from, IIRC.

I have a concrete idea for how everything in the Universe should work, I just go out of my way to not profess them online because it has 0 impact and is thus a waste of my valuable time. Keep in mind most of these are developed for team-based (or at least general social/interpersonal) dynamics, and mTurk is not a team based platform ;-) runs counter to those principles.

If we talked privately you'd probably be able to type me in 5 minutes, most of the times when I've gone through these for business I end up getting pegged "typed" by the guy/gal doing it before they even get to the test part of their shtick lol.

Yeah, this can definitely happen. There are so many converging pathways going on that it makes it damn near impossible to explain to another. Simplifying such ends up being such a complex task that can't ever seem to fully be unwound that I often don't bother.

Yeah Im actually into Jungian functional theory but I feel really pretentious using those words, so I will simplify it when I ask people because it's an easy analog. It's so fun though.
