I just felt the movie lacked depth and was rushed. I liked saving private ryan. the Hurt locker was too goddam accurate and made my ptsd flair up(im a vet). I have never watched the Schindlers list..

 

At any given time I could prob go 2-3 weeks without power and not have any issues besides going crazy without the internet.

Do people seriously run out of food/water after a few days of snow?

Depends where you live right? I remember growing up in the country. We had to haul our own water in a 500 gallon tank my dad had on his truck. The winter of 93 was the worst winters I've ever experienced in Colorado. We got 5 ft of snow in one night. No power, no running water, low on food, a lot of buildings in the town roofs caved in as well. Was out of school for 2 weeks because the back side of the school caved in. Now this was extreme, but its possible.

 

A lot of people where I used to live, Northern Ohio, would never be prepared. People had no stored water, no extra food, no back-ups etc. Here I am now with solar power only and I can't imagine ever going back to grid power.
