Talking to an old friend, she makes a comment about her appearance which is, shall we say, alternative in nature.

Friend: A lot of people don't always recognize me now!

Me: I remember when you used to look normal!....oh

My entire body immediately cringed into itself. I might be dying. I might need to leave the country. I might need to change my name again.

 

Dying your hair unnatural colors and having piercings or whatever you consider alternative is outside the normal, though.

 

It is okay. You can be the anime girl that you have always dreamed of.

 

Write some Javascript and grow a beard.

 

Good thing the New Years games are on tommorow too!

hi, have we met bb? I've been known to do all those things. She's uh, way past that. Way way past that.

I mean, I don't really care what she does as far as that though. You do you! We bonded in our teens cause I was the eccentric musical girl and she was the eccentric art student. This week she decided to test out wearing heavy eyeliner on just one eye, and then an interesting combo of black and red lipstick that basically makes her look like a legit vampire (I think that's the point, I'm too embarassed to ask). I'm not hip enough to understand the eyeliner thing being fashionable, but she's jazzed and I'm cool with that. I just didn't mean to blurt out what I did, just think it. Sometimes internal thoughts should stay that way for me.

You hardcore wouldn't recognize her if you knew her 10 years ago, which is totes cool by me. She's always been kinda avant garde, I'm not surprised when she debuts a new look- which is often. She's as crazy for off the wall fashion as I am for combining florals. Potato Potato! Her husband creeps me out though cause he wears these freaky ass wolf contacts THAT SERIOUSLY WEIRD ME OUT!

Question about scripts. I'm not familiar with JS or HTML btw. I only know C... and to say I "know C" is a generous statement (I took 2 classes 5 years ago and never wrote anything after those 2 semesters were over). Google returns a TON of results when looking into Java, but do any of you folks have any good resources/recommendations for learning JS? I got a handle on coding, but it's been a minute, and I am not familiar with JS or HTML syntax at all. When I look at it, I'm like "oh... I kinda remember that, but what does that mean?" etc.
