01/01 - Marvelous Monday!

I only sick about once in a five-year stint. When I do get sick, I swear I cram all the missed years into one.

 

I have the medical record and it's kinda hysterical.

The highlight of that entire shitty incident was that Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Football team called to say I was tough and shit and get better when I was stable. I got calls from the president of the university, dean of students, etc. It was annoying. I was tired. Then my nurses looked super excited and told me to pick up the room phone and I was friggen delighted. I was on a cpap so I still had like 0 voice but I managed to croak out, "Worth it."

Clemson super fans do not fear death! We just kick it in the face!

 

So far $.11 in half an hour -- but I just got one of those $1.20 Pinterests. I don't understand why these ones pay 3x more than their other HITs. These ones are so much easier to do.

I'm convinced that's definitely a thing.

I don't remember the last time I've had the actual flu, and this one knocked me on my ass for the past 5 days harder than I ever, ever remember. I had chronic sinus infections for two years (I'm so, so sorry you have one) and I'm used to needing to power through any sickness, but this one I just could not. I'm not a cryer, but it broke me down into tears no fewer than three times just because of how absolutely miserable I felt. I went full-on toddler. I think I've been asleep for 5 full days because I don't remember a thing. Someone much wiser and nicer than I had to beg me to order chicken noodle soup from Amazon because it didn't even occur to me that I still had to do human things. I'm finally coming back to life, though my stomach isn't 100% yet, and I've never felt so grateful to feel kinda sick.

Ick sorry for the me-tangent, but long story short, I will totally anecdotally vouch for the fact that it's multiple years of sickness crammed into one sickness, it's totally a thing. I hope yours passes quickly.

 

H3N2 apparently comes around on that ~3-5 year schedule, so it's probably this specific strain.
Everything that I've read indicates that's this year's main strain and that it's among the stronger strains.

 

I pulled out the medical files next to my desk for funsies to see if anything from Birb's super very fun near death extravaganza was around, and thought this was a nice snippet:


The 1 summary of events is like 10 pages long. Which is funny to me because I have a very morbid sense of humor. You can't kill a birb guys.
