Since each script instance runs in its own anonymous function, Tampermonkey just literally appends the cached code to the head of the script and makes it available only to that instance. None of the instances is aware that any of the other instances are using it. So even though you don't have to re-download the source, you do have to re-parse and re-run it for every URL match on every script that has it listed as an @require. Once a week (by default), TM will check @requires for updates to tell whether it needs to modify the cached copy, too.

I used to make my releases unlisted so that people couldn't find them without at least being a part of the context in which they were shared.
But people complained about not being able to find scripts when they needed to, for whatever reason (re-installing scripts, etc.).
Now that I've got them up for unfiltered public consumption, people can install things without having a clue what they're meant for.

I can't win, really.

I've already made quite a few concessions by releasing several of the tools I use for free.
I'm not making enough money from them to provide full support.
In the past year, I've received maybe a total of $10 in unsolicited donations on for free scripts.
Half of that was one person with a single donation.

That was not meant as any offense to you @ Totally Not ,! I am still pretty much lost with all these scripts! I installed it and am really not sure what it does differently then if I just hit the panda button. The green jumping out at me was so different from what I was used to that I turned it off since I wasn't using it (haha, because I don't really know what it does!). I turned it back on and now I think it makes it easier for me to look for hits when I am behind on the message boards, which i always am. I hope you know we really do appreciate all you do! Even newbies like me that don't know what I'm doing with the scripts!!!
