Do you shut a computer off when you go to bed, with a dying cmos battery causing the motherboard speaker to chirp?

It has been years since I have seen a motherboard with a built in speaker.

Also you should prob just replace that battery...

I shut it off about an hour or so before the noise happens usually. And I HAVE been using it more lately than normal. Is that a loud noise?

Nothing like waking up at 6AM and the dog pee's on the way to be let out the door. I might as well either reboot or do a shutdown for today

What exactly is the problem? Do you put your computer in sleep mode and it wakes itself up?

There are various issues that can cause that.

Motherboard onboard speaker making noises? You could just unplug it (most likely) .. I mean it is useful to be able to use that to debug but I hate doing it by beep codes... the motherboard LCDs are so much better if you have one of those.

Stop having your dog piss on your HDDs and it won't make a difference.

She's having one solitaire chirp at night, and we're attempting to all debug it over the internet :flail:
