I love colorful things so much that I had a hard time thinking of one I didn't like. The best I came up with was that lavender sometimes sucks in some situations. Vintagey lavender is great, but like when it's a really baby-showery or old-lady-bathroom situation, I don't like it. I thought this through way too much.

 

First off, I wub you <3


Second off, I was raised as a military brat. This means we were ahopping bases pretty often, and for my family almost all of it was in europe. So I was raised on bases, overseas for the most part. I got a lot of different cultures shown to me, and a lot of different people join the military, which means a lot of different kids in my schools.

I mean, I was aware of racism (TV, stupid shit kids said here and there) but I literally had no idea until I was like I think 12-13. We moved back to the states for the first time since I had been born, and landed in the pan handle of florida. I went to my first really big school (3000+ kids! That's still insane to me. I graduated with a class of 10 lol). LONG story short, I made friends, and then I made one friend. A lovely black girl by the name of Keisha. We were fast friends, like almost immediately.

She came over to my house, and knocked, and asked me (the new kid) if I had a bike. I was flabbergasted (no stranger had ever come to my door in my life, looking for me). I told her yes, I have a bicycle... and that was it, off we went on our bikes tearing into the woods and the beginnings of a fantastic friendship.

Then my white friends at the school found out. I had no choice but to sit with Keisha, and Keisha sat with all the black kids. That's when I realized all the black kids were sitting separately at my school, at their own table. It was such a weird experience, I literally got ostracized by the white kids after that.

In the end it worked out, we ended up a rag tag bunch of kids (5 of us total) and I had a lot of fun that one single year I was there, then we moved to England.
